Birth the way your body is designed
with confidence, trusting your natural ability, free from fear and doubt!
Hi! I’m Stacie, a doula, Hypnobirthing & Yoga Teacher specialising in Pre & Postnatal Yoga & Birth Biomechanics.
I help pregnant women prepare for a natural birth by rediscovering their innate birthing instincts.
Guiding them through yoga, hypnobirthing, and evidence-based knowledge, so that they can approach birth with deep self-trust, empowerment, and a connection to their bodies wisdom.
Are you ready to reclaim your birth and become the expert in your own unique journey to motherhood?
At the core of everything I do is a simple and heartfelt belief: women are inherently designed to grow and birth their babies. And guess what? You’re no exception – I know that deep within you lies the incredible power to birth your baby with strength and confidence.
You may not believe it right now but stick with me and I’ll prove it to you.
Historically, the birthing journey was a shared experience, with women coming together in a circle of supportive sisters, aunts, and cousins. It was a natural and communal affair, where women grew up witnessing and participating in the birthing process which was viewed as a normal and beautiful event. This connection to birthing wisdom was passed down from one generation to the next, creating a legacy of instinct and knowledge. However, the shift to hospitals has, in many ways, distanced us from this connection to nature and the belief in ourselves and our bodies.
While modern medical practices are a vital resource when needed, it’s time to reclaim the inherent birthing instincts we’ve carried through countless generations.
My unique perspective centers on practicing the natural birthing behaviours during pregnancy, a journey that not only reconnects you with your natural instincts but changes the way you look at birth.
ITS TIME TO RECLAIM YOUR BIRTHING INSTINCTS AND LABOUR SMARTER, NOT HARDER!
What is My Yoga Birth?
My Yoga Birth focuses on two main elements: understanding physiological birth and a mother’s natural birthing instincts
Physiological birth is a term used to describe the natural birthing process—how nature designed it to be over thousands of years of evolution. It’s extremely complex and incredibly clever. If we desire an easier, quicker, intervention-free birth, it is essential to understand how the birth process works and how we can support it as unique individuals.
If you haven’t given birth before, it might be hard to grasp that you already know how to birth your baby. Just as you know how to breathe and digest your food without thinking about it, your body already knows how to give birth.
We all have natural birthing instincts innate within us, but as birth has become more medicalised, we’ve lost touch with them, trusting healthcare providers and machines more than our own bodies.
Our instincts are a set of behaviors that support and allow the birth process to unfold as it is designed to do. The more we go with our instincts and listen to our bodys natural urges, the easier the birth will be.
so where does yoga fit into all of this?
My Yoga Birth was born from my own personal experiences with two drug-free births, the first at home and second in hospital. I fell in love with all things birth-related and spent the next five years studying to obtain my qualifications to share everything I had experienced with other women.
The more I learnt about the physiological process of birth, the more I realised what a huge impact my yoga practice had on the way I behaved during my first labour.
At that time, I knew very little about birth. I was already a qualified yoga teacher so I understood the mind body connection, I did an online hypnobirhting course and I was blown away by the knowledge of how birth works and how my body was built to birth.
This alone removed any fear that I had, so I always put my amazing home birth down to hypnobirthing, but in truth I never practiced any of the hypnosis techniques. Â
Looking back now, as soon as labor started, I naturally adopted my yoga techniques without even realising it. Linking my breath with movement, I soothed myself through early labor, keeping my body relaxed and my mind calm. I moved all around the furniture, finding all sorts of positions, whichever felt the most comfortable. I kept upright and active for 17 hours, it felt very natural to me.
Years later, with all my knowledge on how birth works, I know without a doubt that yoga prepared me both mentally and physically to have my two positive birth experiences. When we are deeply connected to our birthing instincts, that are innate within every single one of us, birth works much more efficiently!Â
There are so many similiarites between a yoga practice and our natural birthing behaviour. And those birthing behaviours are natures way to ensure that birth runs smoothly.
Learning about birth intellectually is amazing, however, when we have a chance to experience and practice those instinctual behaviours on our mat during pregnancy, whilst also gaining the knowledge of how birth works, we strengthen our connection to our instincts which in turns gives us the best chance at an easier, smoother, empowered birth.
